Project Policy

What Qualifies as a Project

A project is considered any work agreed upon and undertaken by DG Websites. This includes but is not limited to website design, website development, SEO optimization, API integrations, any programming, media or design work, and any form of consultation. A project is represented by a contract and invoice sent to the client at the beginning of a project.

Website Design Project Policy

  1. A website design project is considered work performed to create a website of any size for a client, with the goal of a website being launched on the world wide web.

  2. Website design projects will involve an initial consultation with the client, via phone, email, in-person meeting, or other form of person-to-person communication, in which the client, recipient of the website, and the designer, DG Websites, will negotiate and agree upon a project scope, estimated deadline, payment method, and payment amount.

  3. Monthly Retainers:

    1. Revisions will be made on a monthly retainer policy, these include any requested changes to work created for the website, in the effort of completing the website or otherwise. Clients may be given a free span of time in which the monthly retainer policy is waived, and if so, this will be agreed upon at the beginning of the website design project.

    2. Revision requests can be made via email, phone, video call, text message, or other form of digital communication at no extra charge to the customer. In-person or face-to-face meetings are exempt from monthly retainers, and will be made on an as-needed basis at the request of the client at the rate of $30/hour. DG Websites reserves the right to adjust this price for travel cost, duration of time, or other factor. DG Websites reserves the right to waive this fee.

    3. At the conclusion of a month (considered the 29th, 30th, or 31st dependent on the last calendar day of the month), clients will be notified of any increase to their invoice that may arise from a website design project continuing into the following month. Clients will not be charged this amount until they have agreed upon said increase for the following month.

    4. If a client so chooses to not pay the agreed amount for any following months in the project, DG Websites reserves the right to cease all further work on the website, request payment for any portion of the website that has been completed, and/or destroy any materials created, designed, or otherwise by DG Websites.

    5. DG Websites reserves the right to offer a span of time shorter than a calendar month for a client who may wish for a shorter retainer period. This is at the will of DG Websites, and is not guaranteed to clients.

  4. Post-Website Design Project Completion:

    1. Upon completion of a website design project, the client may contact DG Websites for any assistance needed with their website. DG Websites reserves the right to refuse service for any or no reason.

    2. Any previous discounts, fee waivers, or perks of any kind are given at the will of DG Websites, and are not guaranteed for any future work completed by DG Websites

  5. In projects wherein work is to be expedited (e.g., a client requests a piece of work be completed faster than five business days), the following percentage markups may apply. DG Websites reserves the right to wave any of the following fees:

    1. One Business Day Completion: 50% markup on total invoiced value.

    2. Two Business Day Completion: 25% markup on total invoice value.

    3. Three Business Day Completion: 20% markup on total invoice value.

    4. Four Business Day Completion: 10% markup on total invoice value.

  6. In projects wherein a client would like work completed on non-business days (e.g., Saturday and Sunday) DG Websites reserves the right to charge a 50% markup rate on any work completed during this time. This markup will be clearly stated to the client before being enacted, and clients will be provided the option of waiting till the next available business day to have the work completed. DG Websites reserves the right to wave this fee.

  7. DG Websites is not responsible for any issues that may arise through the Squarespace platform to the clients website. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, server shutdown, platform banning, or other instance that would involve a clients website or access being revoked or terminated. Please see our terms and conditions for more information regarding this.

Consultation Project Policy

  1. A consultation project is considered work performed by DG Websites or its affiliates in the effort of providing counsel to a client in regards to marketing, social media, website design, business, or other form of information. These projects are established through an agreement between the person/company receiving counsel, the client, and the person/company providing counsel, DG Websites or its affiliates.

  2. Consultation projects will be invoiced through a one time, or monthly retainer policy dependent on the scope of the project and the request of the client. For more information regarding our monthly retainer policy, please view the above section 3 in the “Website Design Project Policy”.

  3. Consultations will be made via email, phone, video call, text message, or other form of digital communication at no extra charge to the customer under the scope of the consultation project agreement. In-person or face-to-face meetings are exempt from monthly retainers, and will be made on an as-needed basis at the request of the client at the rate of $30/hour. DG Websites reserves the right to adjust this price for travel cost, duration of time, or other factor. DG Websites and its affiliates reserve the right to waive this fee.

  4. DG Websites is not responsible for any issues or damages that may arise from counsel given to a client during consultation, or any actions taken by the client that are or are not the result of taking the advice of DG Websites or its affiliates.

Late Payment Policy

  1. Payments for any project completed by DG Websites or its affiliates will be expected within 15 business days of an invoice receipt date. Any payment made or not made after that period will be considered a “late payment”. The following outlines our late payment policy.

  2. Payments can be made via PayPal or check by mail. Alternative methods may be accepted upon the expressed permission of DG Websites or its affiliates.

  3. If a payment is late (having exceeding 15 days without payment after invoice receipt date), the client will be charged an additional 10 percent of the overall invoice amount. This will be sent as a seperate invoice, and will be required by the end of the month that the invoice falls within. Failure to complete this payment will result in an additional 10% charge on the original invoice amount and a meeting with DG Websites to discuss payment options.

  4. If a payment is late (having exceeding 15 days without payment after invoice receipt date), DG Websites reserves the right to remove client access from the website, or any data completed by DG Websites or its affiliates. Along with this, for any website design project that has not been paid on time, and is considered a late payment, DG Websites reserves the right to take the completed website off of the internet for the span of time until the original invoice amount has been paid in full with any additional late payment charges.

  5. DG Websites reserves the right to waive late fees.
